What to do when
you can’t orgasm
|
Although we have reams written on sex and the art of the
perfect climax, the truth is that not all women are able to have an
honest-to-goodness orgasm. Since there isn’t much information out there to help
figure out why, we thought we’d do our bit to help.
• First things first—if you can’t orgasm, it doesn’t mean
there’s something wrong with you. There are women who have not been able to
orgasm EVER, and they don’t consider it a loss. You can actually enjoy sex even
without achieving orgasms.
• If you want to orgasm but aren’t able to, it could be due
to psychological or physiological factors. Your emotions play a part in whether
you orgasm or don’t. You also need to check whether medications are causing a
road block.
• Try masturbating. It will help you understand your body
better. When you know your body better, you can guide your partner better and
achieve the orgasm you’ve been wanting.
• Communication is essential. If the only reason you’re not
able to orgasm is that you aren’t directing him to the spot you need him to be
at, start talking! If you’re feeling awkward about telling him verbally, use
your hands or moans to direct him. Guys love being directed, and being able to
read you. When they get you off, it helps them get off too.
• If your inability to orgasm is beginning to affect your
life and consume your thoughts, visit a sex therapist. A bit of professional
help may be all you need to get on track.
• Practice mindfulness or start meditating to help yourself
reach the big O faster. Chances are there are so many things playing on your
mind that you are unable to stay in the moment during sex. This could also lead
to the loss of an orgasm.
• Switching your routine can also help. Try different
positions during intercourse or different strokes during masturbation. Let your
imagination wander and add some fun roleplay and bring your favourite fantasies
to life. Mental stimulation along with physical can also make a big difference.
